Turbidity Sensor ATEX Type METP-Ex

Turbidity Sensor ATEX Type METP-Ex

The METP-Ex, which has been completely redesigned and certified, is a robust sensor for optical turbidity and solids measurement. It is suitable for use with low as well as high turbidity and solids concentrations in wastewater and process water.

“When competitors discontinue products, we improve upon them and develop them further!” Matthias Müller.

When well-known competitors announce the EOP for relevant products, Müller Industrie-Elektronik GmbH plays to one of its greatest strengths: customer-specific development.

Areas of application and use of the METP-Ex

The METP-Ex turbidity sensor enables the control of turbidity and solids content in liquids, both in flowing and standing situations, making it particularly suitable for applications in various wastewater treatment processes.

  • Use in sewage treatment plant processes
  • Wastewater treatment/sludge treatment
  • Condensate monitoring
  • Measurements in the process industry
  • Process water monitoring

ATEX areas

The turbidity sensor can be used in Zone 1 hazardous areas and is connected to transducers or measuring systems installed outside the hazardous areas. The maximum cable length is 100 m.

Design and construction

The LED probe head of the METP-Ex is connected to the intrinsically safe, ATEX-certified MATU transmitter. Both the transmitter and the sensor's own circuit board are fully encapsulated, and the housing is bolted and welded. The materials used for the housing components are designed to withstand the aggressive media found in operating conditions and ATEX zones (60079-11 6.1).
