MKTS-GLEx with DNV EU-RO certification
Müller Industrie-Elektronik GmbH has once again reached an important milestone: the compact temperature sensor MKTS-GLEx has been successfully certified in accordance with the EU-RO requirements for mutual recognition. This certification was granted by the renowned ship classifier DNV (Det Norske Veritas) and is supported by recognition from eleven other accredited companies in the network.
Champions League of ship classification
The EU-RO ship classification is a system for classifying and certifying ships based on the requirements of the European Union (EU) and the guidelines of the “Recognized Organizations” (ROs). These are organizations that are recognized by the national maritime authorities of the EU member states and inspect ship safety standards and issue certificates.

Mutual recognition by eleven different accreditation bodies results in close cooperation and mutual acceptance of the respective ship classifications. This enables ship operators and owners to meet the requirements and standards of a recognized organization without having to rely on the national accreditation of the respective country for each ship and each inspection.
The most important aspects of this EU-RO system are:
EU-RO system: A recognition of the classification societies and organizations authorized by the maritime authorities of the EU member states to classify and certify ships. These organizations operate in accordance with international safety standards and are regularly inspected by the member states.
Mutual recognition: If an accreditation body accepts the work of another accredited organization, this means that the inspections, classifications and certificates carried out by the ship operator are recognized as valid in all EU states. This means that the ship does not have to pass different inspections in each country.
11 accreditation bodies: This figure refers to the number of recognized and accredited organizations operating in the EU that carry out ship classification. Each of these organizations has its own inspection and certification procedures, but they all comply with international standards (such as SOLAS, MARPOL).
In summary, the system of mutual recognition and the eleven accreditation bodies provides a high degree of flexibility and efficiency for ship operators in the EU. It simplifies administration and regulatory requirements and contributes to the promotion of international safety in ship operations.
With this certification, Müller Industrie-Elektronik GmbH once again demonstrates its innovative strength in the field of industrial sensor technology. The MKTS-GLEx not only fulfills all relevant safety requirements, but also offers high precision and durability - ideal prerequisites for demanding applications in various areas of the maritime industry.
