As one of the core competencies of Müller Industrie-Elektronik, safe load measurement technology for overload protection on the upper and lower machinery of stage technology systems has been ensuring a high level of safety in theater and stage technology for decades.

So far, more than ten thousand units of the patented, TÜV type-examination tested and redundant load measuring system DLM-HD (bridge measuring amplifiers in combination with strain gauge full bridge load cells) are used worldwide in theater and stage technology. The digital load measuring system is used for measuring and evaluating tensile forces using strain gauges and is used in stage technology as a load moment limitation for maximum safety.

Further development of the digital load measuring system to meet today's requirements for functional safety:

Based on its many years of know-how in load measuring technology, Müller Industrie-Elektronik has refined the measuring devices for safe load measuring technology and adapted them to the latest safety requirements.

The new Safety Measurement Module SMM is a redundant, SIL3-certified measuring system for safe load measurements in the tensile and pressure ranges and meets the latest safety standards for functional safety according to SIL3 and Performance Level e. In combination with a safe control and diagnostic unit, the SMM is suitable for use in all applications with safety-critical load measurements, especially in theater and stage technology. It meets the safety requirements for technical systems of safety category 3 (SIL3) in accordance with DIN EN 61508/62061 and Performance Level e of category 3 in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13849-1.

Strain gauge amplifier SMM-HD: latest safety standard for stage equipment

At present, numerous first-generation load measurement systems with the new SMM-HD strain gauge bridge amplifier and MULC strain gauge force transducers certified for functional safety in accordance with SIL3 and Performance Level e are being installed in theaters, drama and opera houses worldwide converted to the latest safety standard.
