When cranes, lifting and conveyor systems are getting old, they often no longer meet today's technical and legal requirements. Through appropriate modernization measures such as the replacement of obsolete components and the integration of the latest technologies, systems can be specifically adapted to today's safety regulations. Safety-relevant functions such as safe movement monitoring, load control, collision safety for multiple cranes, limit switch-off, radio control and automatic monitoring system can be retrofitted to make crane, lifting and conveyor systems fit for the future.

Compact safety controller SCU-DR as a cost-effective retrofit solution

With the compact SCU-DR safety controller, Müller Industrie-Elektronik offers a cost-effective retrofit solution for crane, lifting and conveying systems. With the integrated functions for digital signal processing such as sensors, command units and shutdown channels, typical safety tasks can be conveniently and safely solved with the compact PLC. The SCU-DR meets the requirements of the latest safety standards and is suitable for use up to PLe according to EN 13849 and SIL3 to EN 61508.

The freely programmable, compact small controller for up to 800 STL instructions has a safe logic controller according to Annex IV of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Serial programming and parameterization are also possible. Optionally available communication modules such as CAN 2.0, CANopen, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET and EtherCAT ensure smooth system integration and reliable transmission of malfunctions and alarm messages.
